A Few Good Things – Vol. 16

Cobra Kai

Last year, I re-watched The Karate Kid films for the first time in several decades and really enjoyed myself. Around the time I rewatched the films, Cobra Kai, the continuation was coming to an end. My only exposure to Cobra Kai was the first trailer, which gave the illusion the series was more of a parody than actual continuation and that just didn’t interest me.

Two weeks ago, I was killing some time while my wife was finishing up something and I turned on Cobra Kai just to see how it was. The show immediately caught my attention and within a week I’d watched the first three seasons.

Needless to say, I really like the show. It does a great job of tapping into my nostalgia while telling a fun story. I’m excited to enjoy it over the next few weeks.

Kingdom Come II

I picked up Kingdom Come II reluctantly before Christmas. I bought the first game a few years ago, but the difficulty was just too much for me. I loved the medieval setting, but there is only so much time and effort I’m willing to put into video games these days.

After reading about how the difficulty level was turned down a bit for Kingdom Come II, I decided to take another chance with the series and I’m absolutely loving it. I’m about forty hours into the game and I’m not even a third of the way done with it. I love the story, the gameplay, and even the difficulty. So far, it’s almost a perfect game for me.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms

I finally watched Game of Thrones last year, and I really enjoyed it. Well, mostly, those last two seasons left a lot to be desired. House of the Dragon hasn’t really appealed to me, but I decided to give A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms a shot and I enjoyed it. The first fifteen minutes were a bit strange, since it’s a huge tone shift from Game of Thrones, but once the show got moving I enjoyed it. I’m interested to see where it goes, and I’m glad its just six episodes.
