A Few Good Things – Vol. 17
Yoga Grips
The weakest part of my body has always been my wrists. I, unfortunately, inherited my mothers tiny writes, and while I’ve managed to strengthen them significantly over my lifetime, I still encounter issues when applying too much pressure to them. Needless to say, yoga can be a significant challenge. So much so, the last time I was actually in a yoga class, the instructor had to shift gears during the class after realizing how much of an issue I was having. I tend to resort to using my knuckles instead of my wrists when doing particular poses.
I’ve really stepped up my yoga game the last few months, and of course, the more intense I get the more my wrists hurt. In a few instances, I’ve had to cut my workouts short, due to pain. So, I decided to finally spend $45 on Yoga Grips, which claim to help folks like me who struggle with wrist pain.

I wasn’t sure what to expect, and I was ready to return them if they didn’t work, but to my surprise they work way better than I expected. They offer an ergonomic soft gel grip which really helps take the pressure off my wrist. I’ve used them about a dozen times now, and I must say, I’m very happy with my purchase, I just wish I would have bought them a few years ago.
La Femme Nikita
Gosh, where to start with La Femme Nikita. Do, I began with the original film or the US remake Point of No Return? I guess since this is a small post, lets keep it simple.
In the 90s, USA adapated La Femme Nikita, a film by Luc Besson, into a television show. This show featured a slick, cool vibe that features all sorts of unique and fresh music laid over a satisifying, yet dark show about people forced into becoming spies.

Some of my earliest memories online were of all the fansites that existed in the mid-90s, and La Femme Nikita was one of the shows that had the most. The internet was infactuated with Peta Wilson (and Gillian Anderson, at the time) and it was hard to escape. I remember watching a handful of episodes of La Femme Nikita, but I never “got into” the show. I just picked random episodes to watch and I think I like the idea of the show (and the theme song) more than the actual show.
For years, I’d ocassionally listen to theme song on YouTube, and a month or so ago, I noticed the show had been added to Tubi so I started up the first episode to listen to the theme song. Next thing I know, I’ve watched the entire pilot and then the next four episodes.

It’s interesting, I wouldn’t say it’s the greatest show, but some episodes are truly fantastic. I like the characters and how untrustworthy everybody is, but more than anything I like the style. I love the vibe, music, tech, and silly costumes. It’s a very 90s show, and I love that about it.
(Fun fact: the creators of La Femme Nikita went onto create the hit show 24)
Mad Max: The Game
One of my favorite games is Mad Max. I fell in love with it a couple of years ago, but shortly after I beat the main mission I didn’t renew my PS+ account. This screwed me over once I deleted the game off my console to make space, thus deleting my save data, and I couldn’t download it from the cloud because I didn’t have an active PS+ account.

Well, recently, I renewed my PS+ and I began finishing up some side missions and I’m really have a lot of fun. I’m not sure what it is about this game that is just so laid back and addicting to play, but I truly love it. I heard Samson, a new game is being worked on by a lot of the same folks so I’m interested in seeing how that turns out.
Gladiators
A couple of years ago, Gladiators (the British version of American Gladiators) relaunched to great success. I saw the first few episodes on YouTube, but the BBC was good at getting the episodes pulled down. Well, I finally found a work around using a VPN and BBC’s iPlayer so I’ve been catching up on episodes.

I’ve also been watching the old episodes of American Gladiators on Amazon Prime, but I recently discovered that all of the episodes of the original series are streaming on YouTube on the American Gladiators Channel for free. So, it’s been nice to watch things in order.
